receive email

I have set up the gmail and live account and when i first start it works to
receive my emials but after that i don't receive my emails. and it may take a
day. I love outlook and what i can do with it so i really hope you can help
me out..
Is there a way to set a setting that makes the outlook NOT time out if iam
not using it. and just stays on ..
I have tried to find help on this thro forums and searching and its all
really confusing far as i know i have done everything!

Are you scanning your emails with your Anti Virus? If so disable that scanning
option by uninstalling your AV and the re-installing it without the email
integration(scanning) option.
