Receive error: "this value cannot be modified"

I receive the following error when I attempt to change data on my form that
was initially retrieve from SQL via Web Service. IE a Dropdownlist, when I
attempt to change the current ListItem, this error will display. I would
like to be able to change the field and not error prompt occur.
