Receive ghost attachments in Express

My colleague receives many email messages which claim to have attachments
(there's a paperclip icon), but there is no attachment. The sender claims not
to have sent an attachment. As well, she receives messages with no
attachments, although everyone else on the list received an atttachment.
Ideas?

Maybe THEY should ask the questions regarding their own experience so
they can provide the details of THEIR computing environment, and also
ask in an Outlook EXPRESS newsgroup which this is not.

Wow...I thought newsgroup people were supposed to be helpful, not abusive. My
mistake.

For the record: my searches for an EXPRESS newsgroup led me HERE--OVER and
OVER and OVER again. Sorry...just looking for help. Can you direct me to such
a group?

And...also for the record: I am charged with discovering the root of my
colleague's problem. It's my job, OK? Maybe you're not familiar with people
helping out others as part of their job.

Microsoft Outlook is part of Microsoft Office; Outlook Express is part
of Windows. Outlook Express newsgroups are here
