Received Lines of Text Go Way Off The Viewable Page

I am running Office 2007, and have set Word as my Outlook editor. When I send
original email out, the the margins are fine, i.e., are the norm, ify ou
will. However, often when I receive replies to emails, each line of text runs
off the page waaaaaaay to the right so I have to scroll to see the full of
each line. Even if I try to edit the reply and reset the margin, it does
nothing.

Does anyone know what's going on and how to resolve it? Is there a way to
force incoming email to abide by pre-set margins? Thanks ...

Ah, you can't set Word as Outlook editor in Outlook 2007, it uses a Word
dll as the editor. Or you don't have Outlook 2007 and then Word 2007
doesn't work with Outlook 2003. So perhaps you can resolve that
statement about the editor?

Thanks for the quick response and for setting me straight, Bob. I screwed the
pooch about using Word as the editor, Bob. I was thinking about Outlook 2003
-- I just upgraded to 2007 a few weeks ago and forgot there was a built-in
Word-like editor in Outlook 2007.

OK, so now that we've estabilshed I am using Office/Outlook 20007, my
question still remains: How can I resolve this issue?

When you receive this e-mail what format is it in, it sounds to me like
word-wrap isn't being used and they are sending plain text. Perhaps the
respondent neglected to set their word-wrap to the default of 76? If you
change the format to RTF or HTML to reply does that force it to wrap for
you?. As far as you forcing the issue automatically, you can only "down
level" automatically to Plain Text. Start with determining what they are
sending to you and then go to reply and then change the Format under the
Options tab.

As a side note. When you reply to a news group using a Signature
separator ( the -- ), please place it after the quoted material. Proper
newsreaders strip everything after the sig separator. Thanks

Thanks for the advice, Bob. You've given me some stuff to check out and try,
and I'll let you know the results. Also, thanks for aside about using
signature separators.
