Re: Outlook 2003 using Windows XP pro

I have recently noticed that my laptop has started displaying read mail in
Times New Roman instead of the font that the mail was sent in (tested with 4
different sans serif fonts). The only thing I have done is update my windows
software at the windows update web site and no other settings have been
changed.

I operate a computer and laptop side by side and send e-mails regularly from
the desktop Outlook 2003 with my account Bcc'd which I view on my laptop
Outlook 2003. I use an automated signature that was set up in Outlook and
this is not affected even the two different colours of the signature are
preserved, it is only the body text which arrives changed from Arial 10pt to
Times New Roman.

This does not occur on my desktop and I have opened the Tools>Options> Mail
Format on both computers side by side to compare settings and they are the
same. I really don't like the TNR font and would like to change that to
Arial. Does anyone have any ideas why this has happened, have I 'tweaked'
something inadvertently and if so what and where?

Doh! answered my own question!

Control Panel>Internet Properties>General>Fonts the setiing was set to use
Times New Roman as substitute when there was no specified font. I just
changed it back to Arial...simples!

....but how did my laptop change that setting in the first place? hmmm, the
Windows Gremlin strikes again!!!
