Received unsuccessful update of Word 2002 (short & long versions)

I just attempted to update Word 2002. The file downloaded without a problem
and then tried to install. I received an unsuccessful report. I then tried
the 5Mb file and the same thing happened. I tried to download the updates
again, but since they are already saved somewhere on my HD, it won't allow
them to be downloaded again. I have plenty of disk space and have not had a
problem before. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

Try installing the version that you download manually from the Microsoft.com
Download Center. You'll find them using the 'More Information" link below
each update on Office Update. See if the manual install packages work or if
they give you an error message.
