Receiving 100 MB of old e-mails from Archive folder

I think my archive.pst file is corrupt, but I don't know how to fix it. When
I do a send/receive in Outlook (2003 version), the details window says that
100 MB of messages are being downloaded, but they are not going into my
Inbox. They are not coming from my ISP web server, so my only guess is that
they are being downloaded from the Archive folder and going back into the
Archive folder. These e-mails seem to be from 2007, as I have opened some of
them when they are caught in a spam window that I set up from my Anti-virus
program to display.

They are not coming from my ISP web

It says downloading 100MB where it usually says sending/receiving
messaes...at the right side of the task bar.

I don't know where they could be coming from. The date of the messages are
from the year 2007 and I was able to see some of these that were caught
because of a SPAM rule that I have set up in Outlook I don't have office
2007. The messages are not being downloaded from my ISP web server because I
deleted all of the messages there when the problem started.

This has happened before, and my ISP's Tech support were able to help me
solve it and I think they walked me through the steps of setting up a new
archive.pst file. This is why I thought it had something to do with the pst
files being corrupt. BTW, there are no messages from the year 2007 in my
Inbox, and none are showing up there during this huge downloading of messages
from the unknown location. I spent hours already with my ISP Tech Support
and they don't know how to resolve this problem either (I guess the guy who
figured it out before isn't there anymore).

They must be comeing from there because Outlook can't download from any
other location. How did you delete the messages from the server and what
type of account are you using?

My e-mail account is working correctly again in Outlook. I just went ahead
and let it do the download of those old messages from 2007 and it ended up
being fewer than the 100MB. I agree now that the problem was with my account
on the ISP server and they must have caught the problem and fixed it. I
finally remembered that when this had happened one time before, the tech
support at my ISP determined that my account had become corrupted and he had
to delete it and set it up again in their system. Thanks for your advice. I
am just so happy to have Outlook working again.
