Receiving E-mail via Outlook vs. Outlook Express.

I am using Windows XP, have recently installed Office
2003 and wish to use Outlook to send and receive E-mail.
Currently all incoming mail arrives through Outlook
Express and outgoing is sent via Outlook. I want Outlook
to handle both. After entering User, Log on and Server
information, when I click on Test Account Settings I get
the error message: "Unable to send test message. Please
verify E-mail address field". I've verified and tried
again, to no avail. What is wrong? How do I get Outlook
to work properly?
