Receiving message "pattern string invalid" when searching records

Does anybody know how to fix this? When searching fields I am recieving this
message after I enter 2 letters.

You're talking about Access 2007, I'm assuming. Because, I'm having the same
problem. All of a sudden just started doing this, and in every database I
open. Hopefully someone replies with some help.
