Receiving the same email repeatedly

For no apparent reason this evening, when I send/receive emails, I am now
receiving 172 emails - most of which were already received on various dates
over the past month. I have not changed my settings and cannot understand
why this is suddenly happening - any help in providing a solution to this
problem would be much appreciated

you probably have an email "stuck" in your box on the server. Log in
to web email and delete them and that should fix your problem.
