Recent court ruling on customXML and word

Does anyone know what "minor" feature MS has taken out of word 2010 that
relieves them of the infringement charge? I am writing utilities that revolve
around the xml schema validation features of Word 2007 and was wondering if
that "hotfix" had any impact on xml authoring and validation in word.
