Recent security update has disabled download of email from server

I received an "automatic update" during the week of 16 Oct. Now Outlook is
not able to access the mail server to download my email. The server is found
but a connection is not made. Now, I have no access to my email address book
and have to use WebMail to read my mail. I prefer to use Outlook for email.
Anyone have any suggestions/comments on how to fix this and why this has
happened?

What is the error message you received? What have you tried for
troubleshooting? Have you removed and reinstalled your mail account? Do
you have a firewall? Is Outlook an allowed connection? What is your version
of Outlook?

No one can help you based on your vague description. Provide some details
and someone will be able to help.
