We did an update to our Entourage 2004 on all our Tiger systems here at
work, and after we did the update, we had two computers that first of all
corrupted their e-mail database, but a rebuild fixed those. But the real
problem we are having now is that nobody can delete e-mails received in the
public folders. When they select an e-mail in a public folder the option to
delete it is grayed out. What happened?

Hi Dylan, I've noticed the same problems with deleting emails in
delegate folders (using Entourage 2004, update 11.2.1, Tiger 10.4.2,
Exchangeserver 2003).
I thought I solved it by doing the Sharing properties again, but that
only works for the emails you allready have, new emails have the same
problem again!

And I've noticed that there is a difference between Delegate options in
Tools > Accounts > Exchange > Delegates > Set Permissions.... and
Control-Click on an emailfolder > Sharing > Set Permissions. The last
method gives more options.

At the 'learn more' page of the update
http://www.microsoft.com/mac/autoupdate/description/AUOffice20041121EN.htm
is something written about our problem:
Delegate folders and public folders Exchange folders that are not in
your mailbox, such as delegated folders and public folders, are
read-only unless the appropriate update is installed on the Exchange
server. For more information, visit the Microsoft Web site at
http://www.microsoft.com/mac.

My problem is, I don't know to what 'appropriate update' I should
installon the Exchange Server.

Oh wonderful. Our exchange server is ran by a big company 3000 miles away.
Hopefully Morris Communications fixes this soon.

Hi Dylan, can you ask the system administrators at Morris Com. if they
know what update must be installed at the Exchange Server?

Theo.

We have the exact same problem. The sharing of a folder only actually
gives permission to the items in the folder at the time of the sharing.
Every new item put into a folder afterwards is read only for the
delegates. This goes for all users. We are also having trouble with the
public folders. As soon as the event in this folder is syncronised with
the server it is read only... anyone with a solution.?
Regards
Adrian
