Recently used file list hangs

I have a number of users who experience the following problem: When using
Project Pro 2003, they try to go into the "recently used files" list (under
the File menu) and when they try to open one of the files there, Project just
hangs indefinitely. They can open projects normally any other way. Has anyone
else experienced this?

I have seen this before when more then one person is working on a project
file and it has been changed or modified since the PM last opened it.

Not sure if this is the issue here but I have seen it!
