Recently used file list

Word 2002, Win XP, Sp-2
Word just stopped displaying the list of recently used files in the File
menu. However, the recently used file list option in Tools/Options/General
tab is grayed out. How do I turn it on?

Hi John,

The usual cause of this is using TweakUI or a registry hack to suppress the
Documents list on the Start menu. All Office programs also honor that
option. You can have the list in both places or in neither. See
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/284896 for details.

Thanks for the tip. I tried to follow the Microsoft instructions and found
the procedure is a little different for "Tweak UI for Windows XP, v
2.00.1.0" (which I'm using). You have to open the Explorer tab (in Tweak UI)
and place a check in "maintain document history".
