Recieving Emails -

I have a Outllook 2003 connecting to a POP3 mail service. The .pst file is
800,000k in size. For the last couple of days I have been downloading mail,
and sned and recieve works without any errors. I can see Outllook
downloading the messages and no errors of any sort are generated. However
when I check my inbox I have nothing showing. Just the original messsages
before I sychronised. I am loosing messages from all 3 accounts that I use.

I set up Outlook Express as a temporary fall back and have been able to
download my mail and read it. So I know the problem is client side.

1) I ran a repair on Outlook and there was no change
2) I compacted my mail folder - no change
3) Brought the service packs up to date - no change

I have no views or filters or rules applied.

Any ideas would be appreciated as I need outlook back ASAP.

Do you have incoming email virus scanning enabled? If so that could be the
problem. Perhaps an update that made some change. If you have that disable
it or remove the Outlook integration and see if that helps. It's redundant
anyway.

Thanks Ken...On first sight I went 'oh yeah... teaching Grandpa to suck
eggs' but....

I was really busy last week and sometimes when things get busy it is easy to
assume that something obvious is not the cause however further investigation
showed up the following

1) Virus Checker set to delete any files it considered to be a virus!!
2) Junk Email filter - set to delete any junk email
3) 300+ email addresses in junk mail black list including some legitimate
ones

Result 50% of emails deleted for the recipient on reciept including orders
and sales enquiries fro the companies web site.

It was one of the business managers that may shed light on the cuase of the
problem..."the office has been very quiet for a few days with few orders and
few jobs in progress". So I guess the devil makes work for idle hands and
the administrators decided to have a go at eliminating Spam...and oh boy did
they suceed!!
