Recipients not selecting from Address Book

I just installed Outlook 2002 & I'm having trouble with
my address books. When I type part of a name and then
press the "check names" button I see the names and email
addresses displayed correctly. When I click on the
desired name(s)to add them as recipients & return to
compose the email the address(es) have been replaced
with ";" (one for each attempted recipient).

I'm wondering if my problem has anything to do with
having exported the information as a dbase III file from
my Access database.

Most likely your email field is corrupt.
Create a new Contact from scratch and if it works.

Yes creating a new contact from scratch works--but that
doesn't really solve my problem. I maintain my contact
information in my Access database (I haven't yet
converted the db from 2000 to 2002)and I periodically
overwrite my existing Outlook contact list with the
information from the Access db to keep it current. There
must be something wrong because I could do this with no
problems with Windows 98 and Office 2000 software--what
else is the import function for otherwise?

Can the email field be corrupt if the address is
displaying correctly in the contacts list? How does
one "un-corrupt" the field?

I realize it doesn't solve the problem. I needed to determine what the
problem was before I could figure out how to solve it. Your import did not
