Recommendation for Blog Software

I was wondering if anybody has suggestions for a good, customizable Blog
solution. I am new to it, and would like something good.

Would prefer Free, but am will to pay for the software.

I likke Serendipity (www.s9y.org). It's easy to install. Your server
needs to have PHP and MySQL or PHP and PostgreSQL. You can run any of
the standard CSS-based templates or roll your own.

If you want to see it in use, my Serendipity-based blog is at
www.TheNextWindow.com .

Another popular blog software is WordPress.

Of course, you don't have to host your own -- you can set up a blog at
Google's Blogger is you want.
