Reconciliation Of Tasks

I trying to get to grips with Project but I seem to be
stuck on this one point. I have some tasks that in real
life are running behind schedule, ie 10% of the work has
been completed in 20% of the time. What I want it to do
is to take the uncompleted work from the previous weeks
and add it to the remaining weeks of the task.
In a task of 10 weeks duration at 10 hours/week, I have
just completed the 2nd week but have only achieved 10
hours of work. at the moment it is telling me that I have
got to do 10 hours work last week & 10 hours for the next
8 weeks instead of 11.25 hours for the next 8 weeks.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Post the work that has been done on the days it was done. Use the
"reschedule uncompleted work" tool to move the balance foward. The duration
won't change but if you examine the calendar dates you'll find the elapsed
time has, in fact, changed.
