Reconnect - How did I get Offline????

Hello- Just upgraded to Outlook from OE - in OE the connection was set
through Internet Explorer - however in Outlook each time I open it it tells
me I am offline and asks if I would I like to reconnect - I click yes and it
goes along happily - My question - how did I get offline - where is the
setting in Outlook as Internet Explorer does not have the same issue - can I
change it somehow???? Thanks!
