Record Locking - Best Practice

S

SCHNYDES

Hi all,

Looking for a suggestion for a record locking method to used for my split
Access 2000 database. There are a few options out there and I am looking for
the best suitable solution. There will be 30+ users editing data.

I have a few forms in this database that are connected to queries, with
several subforms also connected to queries. Currently I'm having access
adjust the form to represent the record chosen from a combo box, not
necessarily filter the form based on the option(sort of like the access
default option for filtering forms by combo box).

Would a good practice be to set the record locking on the form to "Edited
Record" or would I be better off setting a filter by selection criteria to
actually filter the form and have access auto lock it? Thanks for the help.
