Recording in Notbook View

The recording feature is really cool, but after making a recording the
little speaker icon disappears on the Notebook so I can't see where the
recording went, unless i hover my mouse over the entire document until I
find it. Is this the way it is supposed to work?

Yes. A representative from MS recently posted here that they designed it
that way to reduce display "noise" (too much clutter). Apparently, you're
not the only one who doesn't like this feature. Please use the Send
Feedback button on Word's Help menu to tell MS how you would like to see
this feature change. The more feedback, the better.

Thanks. I understand their wish to reduce noise, but if you can't find the
recording that it kind of defeats the purpose of having one, don't you
think? In this regard, One Note is much better.
