Recording Locking

I have a split database with Access XP. I have an issue
with the recording locking file opening and then the
database fails to open. I have to then ctrl+alt+del to
get into the processes and shut off the MSACCESS. This
happens when I use the shift+open shortcut to get around
the start up settings. Have I set the split database up
incorrectly? Thank you.

Shouldn't be causing this problem. Are you sure that the locking record file
isn't already open when you try to open your database? Delete it if it's
there before you open the database and then try it again.
