Records vanish when I refresh form after appending

Hello there. I am a very very basic newbie to Acces and have
struggled to teach myself the basics need to get our awful Excel
spreadsheets into a more manageble Acess database. That said,
however, I seem to have a few troubles when I am importing and
appending data from said Excel spreadsheets.

I already have the tables split into very small level tables so I'm
not trying to use Access like an excel spreadsheet.

When I import the data I will get the occaisonal warning that some
records were sent to the dreaded Paste Errors table. I open the
table, fix what is preventing the append (fields in wrong format or
text field too long, whatever the case may be) and then Success! I
get the records to append to the datasheet form. Just to make sure
the records are sorted correctly afterwards I do a basic Alphabetical
sort (keeping an eye on the record count at the bottom) and poof.
Those newly appended records are gone. No warning box regarding
indexes or anything. Simply gone as if I did not just append them to
the form.

No filters are on. Queries and reports also show that the records are
not there.

I also have cases of the form sending a pop-up that I can not append a
record as it will duplicate the primary relationship or index...yet
when I do a search for that index key nothing comes up.

Any help as to what might be triggering an automated delete or perhaps
I have something set to hidden???

I hope any of this made sense as I can't seem to find any information
in any discussion groups that seems to mirror my situation and that
could just be because I'm so new at it.

At any rate thank you for any and all suggestions!
