Recently I opened my calendar to see that again sync services duplicated the
items and my favorite stripped out all the category types... Sigh... (in
fact there were over 5 of some items and I just finished deleting these
dups 2 days ago going back 10 years...) anyways... Clearly entourage doesn¹t
play well with sync services (and I have mark space mobile sync which is
messing things up further). So I ran the ³ical dup deleter² which was
suggested on one of the posts here..... Well now I am missing hundreds of
appointments..... !.... Now in outlook I could go in and undelete them
from the deleted items folder... But there not in the deleted items folder
in entourage... I even went in to my old pc and re-synced my pda so that
it would upload the calendar items to the exchange server... However it was
the opposite and removed them from the pda also.... So now its a complete
mess.

Can you tell me where my calendar items delete to so I can restore them? I
have time machine running but since these items are on a remote server
(exchange) I don¹t think it will help.

Thanks

The sync services problem has been pretty well extensively discussed
with regards to Entourage and Microsoft is aware of the problem (no
time-frame on a fix). Jump over to Mactopia support and see in the
list of 5 most frequently discussed items and you will see an
extensive thread on this.

In terms of recovering your lost items, you need to go to a backup.
Time Machine is your best bet. There are two ways of doing this. You
can either restore your active Entourage DB found in your home folder/
Microsoft User Data/ and look for 2008, open, run time Machine and go
back prior to the deletion a restore probably the main identity. Or,
open iCal and restore iCal back in time prior to the deletion. Make
sure you've disabled sync serv in Ent before doing either.

Forgot - one other suggestion is that unless you need the relational
capabilities of Entourage and you are sync'g to a handheld, I would
just use Apple's apps until Microsoft gets sync services fixed. There
is too much potential for data loss/corruption and also its time
consuming to constantly fix Entourage or keep your eye open when it
mucks up.

Hello - thanks but I cant use time machine -- as that would restore the
entire entourage 'set' - not just the calendar - -I don't want to restore
the mail from five mail accounts or the contacts which I have cleaned up for
the 15th time in 2 weeks.

Regarding your other suggest later of using apple apps - again I have
exchange - I don't believe apple mail supports connecting to exchange...
Also - yes I have a PDA also .. Which is what started this whole mess -
wanting to sync my info like I have for the last 5 years, and thinking that
for some odd reason that my Microsoft software would be bug free and work...
My bad :D
Looks like I am going to have to get my money back for markspace... And run
outlook in fusion to sync to my phone... I found a bunch of deleted calendar
items in outlook (opened in fusion) but I am sure that's not all of them...
When I find time I have to send a feedback about entourage not putting
anything other than mail in the deleted item folder.
