Background:
Outlook 2000
Exchange 2000
Outlook can recover non hard deleted items even when they have been deleted
from the deleted items folder. To do this you must enable the functionality
on the exchange server. However, the moment you use this then users become
less worried about deleting stuff from their deleted items folder. Some will
even start to use the deleted items folder like another folder to file stuff
in!! Worse than that there is a delete button in the recover deleted items
window and users press this button to really delete stuff!!!
Now I am back where I was when I couldn't recover deleted items.
Q: Is there a way to hide/disable/password protect the recover deleted items
add-in, or at least hide/disable the button that deletes the deleted deleted
items in the recover deleted items window?
OR
Is there a way to recover the deleted deleted items deleted from the recover
deleted items window without recovering the whole mailbox etc? (I am
expecting a no)
It seems to me that having a delete button in the recover deleted items tool
simply nests the problem of recovery deeper... <aarggh/>
