Recover lost calander and contacts

We had a system failure at our small business and had to do a full system
recovery. However, when I reopened office, our calander and all our contacts
were gone. Is there any way of recovering the lost files? Is the information
stored somewhere in our computer? Thanks for any help you can offer.
