Recover lost inbox files following an Outlook upgrade?

I upgraded to Office 2003 from an old Office 98. Now all the previous
Outlook inbox files are gone. Can they be recovered and if so how? Thanks

Look for a file with the extension .pst - this file has all of your Outlook
data including mail, calendar, contacts, tasks, etc. Once found, open
Outlook and use File->Open->Outlook Data file and open the file to access
your information.

After furious head scratching, TKH asked:
