Recover unsaved updates - had closed file without saving

I

Ivo

I thought I saved before closing, but apparently I did not! If my PC
inadvertantly were shut down, a recovery list of files would have appeared on
the left side of the Office package that was opened, is there any way to
invoke this when you physically close a file without saving the ongoing
updates?

Ivo,

You are about 95% likely to have lost these updates. I'm very sorry.

There is a slim chance that there may be a temp file with the changes in
them on your computer. What I would suggest is to use Windows search to
look for a file last changed about the right time on your computer. If
there is a tmp file that is about the right size, on about the right
date/time, then change the file's name from something.tmp to something.ppt
and try to open it by double clicking. If it opens and is your file -
GREAT!. But more than likely, the changes were deleted when you told it not
to save the file.
