Recovered PST file "Cannot move item" error when trying to move e-

P

Had a corrupt .PST file that recovered successfully using Scanpst.exe. We
are able to open the PST and read the e-mails. The PST is 850 MB

However, if we try to move an e-mail from the recovered PST to the Inbox, or
any other folder in any PST, the error message "Cannot move item" is
displayed.

We can read, re-name, forward, etc the e-mails.

I have tried importing the PST into the Inbox, and I still get the "cannot
move item" error.

My superior will not accept my suggestion of "Back up this PST, use it for
reference, but do not put any new e-mails in it."

I have searched the web high and low, but no answers are forth-coming. I
will not buy a recovery software app unless I know that it will definitely
solve the issue.

Please advise.

Would he also be averse to using a new PST but copying over all the data the
old contains to that the new PST looks exactly like the old PST?

The issue is exactly that we CAN'T move the items OUT OF THE OLD PST.

The error appears whenever we try to move them. We get the message"Cannot
move item."

You cannot move these items - how about copy? If you use right-click
drag-and-drop you can select between move and copy.

Notice I said "copy", not "move".
