Recovering Personal Folder from Crashed Computer

My Laptop recently crashed. My Harddrive is OK and I am able to access all my
old folders including the Outlook files. I had not created a .PST file on the
old Outlook data.
Q. Is it possible to copy a data file from my old Harddrive to my Desktop
(say: to the "Program Files/Office" folder) and so that I can view my old
"Personal folders" so that I can run an Export and save the old Outlook data
as a .pst

What do you mean you had not created a PST file?
Outlook cannot run without a PST file unless you are running against
Exchange Server.
