Recovery software

Hi,

We have an issue with the occasion Word document corrupting. Does anyone
have any recommendations about what the _best_ software for that is? I'm
talking about docs including things like OLE embedded objects.

Thank.

I was aware of the ability to get back the text. I was actually more asking
whether any of the third party software out there that claims to be able to
recover things like OLE was worth going for, and what the best one was.

There are some utilities for recovering corrupt documents: sometimes they
work, sometimes they don't. It really depends on how badly the document is
corrupted. If you search for 'Word Document Recovery' in Google, you'll fid
plenty of hits. Some let you download a trial version that will examine your
document and let you know if it is recoverable - but won't actually recover
the document until you pay up.

Good Luck.

Yeah. Tried about four of them already, but with no joy.

Thanks for your help.

Rob

Well that probably indicated the document is beyond saving. Have you had a
look at it using a text editor?
