Rectangle Not Redrawing Properly

When I create a simple rectangle or text box, parts of the rectangle
disappear when I scroll the screen up or down in and out of view. The line
pieces that disappear are variable; sometimes the whole rectangle
disappears, and will partially reappear on the next scroll in to view. The
problem does not seem to happen with other shapes: triangles, ovals seem to
hold their outlines. Any help on this?

I am using Print Layout View.
