recuring task summary show too much time

Hi there,
I did a summary task that had 8 hours each month for a year and it showed
over 1000 hours of work. Does anyone have advice

Hi Jolie,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup

The summary is showing the duration from the beginning of the first task to
the end of the last task. Doesn't make much sense in recurring tasks, but
that's how summaries work.

Did it really show WORK or duration?
If t showed work, you haev assigned a resource to it, which is clearly not
what yoiu intended
