Recurring appointments off by one hour

Back end running Exchange 2003 SP2 on Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2
Client running WinXP Pro SP3 with Outlook 2007 SP1

So we have a user with a recurring appointment that seems to be off one hour
during daylight savings time, November thru March. Looking at his calender
the appointment time corrects itself for the summer months. I checked the
date/time settings on both the XP clock and Outlook 2007 options - calendar
options and they match exactly. Any one know why this appointment is off one
hour in the winter?

Mountain Standard Time. I'm not sure if it has the new definitions, but it
is current with windows critical updates. I'm also assuming it wouldn't need
a new definition since MST time zone hasn't changed in.... ever?

Mountain Standard Time. I'm not sure if it has the new definitions, but
it

Not quite "ever". All DST definitions changed in 2005 so that starting in
2007 DST begins the second Sunday of March and ends the first Sunday of

fruits, but they're different. MST has not changed in Utah, ever. DST,
obviously has changed, everyone knows this. I'm just saying I'm not in AZ or
IN. Oye...

issues such as this.

11:30AM, configured on May 27th of 2008. The appointment shows 8AM-11:30AM
the last Tuesday of October. The first Tuesday in November the appointment
shows 7AM-10:30AM. If you open the appointment for that first Tuesday in
November (open this occurrence), it gives a brief summary box that states the
appointment parameters - Occurs every Tuesday effect 5/27/2008 from 8:00AM to
11:30 AM GMT -0600 (Standard) / GMT - 0600 (Daylight). Below the subject and
location fields it has a start time of 11/4/2008 7:00AM and an end time of
11/4/2008 10:30 AM.


Between what exact dates are the times
correct? The times are correct starting from the 2nd week of March through
the end of October.

Did you verify the automatically adjust for DST setting is correct
for your time zone? I ensured the adjust for DST was selected in both
Outlook options - calendar options and the XP clock properties. The odd
thing is that in Outlook under the appointment summary box it shows GMT -0600
when we're really GMT -0700.

something is definitely screwed up with the time zone. the patch is
installed and in effect for March, possibly for Nov (ST starts the first
weekend of Nov, so it depends on the dates you checked)

The odd
thing is that in Outlook under the appointment summary box it shows
GMT -0600
when we're really GMT -0700.

This is the likely the problem but figuring out the cause might be
difficult. Did you ever run the time zone updater tool? Try that.

if it doesn't help, try setting a new TZ, restart outlook and select the
correct one.

If all else fails, I'd probably export the TZ from the registry of a
computer where it works and import it on this one.
