recurring appointments

I'm having synchronization issues when trying to sync
recurring appt's or meetings. We have 5 users sharing a
common calender for appointments, meetings, etc. When
someone enters a recurring appointment (say 10am til 11am
for the next 5 Wednesday's) to this calender and sync's
it, the other users of this calender see it at 8:00am,
and if another appointment is made the same day (say from
2pm til 3pm) it also shows up at 8am on that same day.
This only happens with recurring appointments or
meetings. A single entry works fine. We are using Outlook
2002.
