Recurring Calendar events

When I send an invitation to a calendar event to my boss and she accepts it,
it automatically makes it a recurring event, even though we did not make it a
recurring event. I am to assume you need to go into properties somewhere
within her outlook. Can you guide me where I need to go in and do this.
