Recurring Task Properties

I am importing groups of tasks from another database, and
I want to make certain ones recurring tasks, either by
editting the task info or using VBA (to automate). The
only way I can see making a task recurring is to insert a
new recurring task. Why can't I make a current task or
group of tasks recurring, then specify the attributes? I
can do this with a meeting scheduled in Outlook. I am
running Project 2000? Can I do this by upgrading?

Recurring tasks are not as useful in project as in outlook.
In fact I never use them.
You can not fix the problems with recurring tasks by upgrading.
The solution to your problem is to realize that Project is different from
outlook.
Outlook is a time manager. Project is a planning tool. Project is very poor
at time management.
