Recurring Tasks in Microsoft Project

For Recurrings Tasks I have in my project, the Work column in the summary
task seems to reflect the duration of the entire task for total hours and not
the sum of the work of the individual subtasks. For example, if I have a
recurring task with 6 subtasks created for .1 day, the Work hours of the
summary task shows 36 hours and not the 6 hours. I am trying to get an
accurate Work hours in my project and it seems to be distorted by the
recurring tasks. Can anyone let me know if I need to set something on the
recurring task differently?

Hi,

Do not assign the resource(s) to the recurring task itself
Open it (+ sign) and assign the resource(s) to the detail taskls.
