Recurring Tasks

When trying to create a recurring task in Project 2003 it does not show the name of the task in the entry table. Also, there are no expand or collapse icons to show the subtasks of the recurring task. What am I doing wrong?

How did you create the recurring task? Try Insert/Recurring task.

That is how I created the recurring task. I went to Insert/Recurring Task and entered the information. It showed a recurring task, but did not put the task name that I typed in

We need to experiment to isolate the problem. Try another one. Try a new
project. Can you try on another PC? Were does in work correctly?

Actually, I am trying to help troubleshoot a file someone else has created. When I am working in this particular file, I cannot create the recurring tasks correctly. In other files, new or old (created on his computer), I can create recurring tasks without any problems. He assures me that he has not made any changes to his default setting, etc

Let's a try other things, then.

1. What version did he use to create the file? What version are you using?
2. Open the original file, Save As ... and give it a different name; exit
from Project; start Project; open the different name and try Insert |
Recurring task ...
3. Open the original file; Save As ... and save it as an mpd (Project
Database) format; exit from Project; start Project; open the mpd file and
try Insert | Recurring task ...
