Red Font w/ Underline Problem

Our secretaries cut/copy and paste into new docs often (Word 2000).
Occasionally, when they ctl-v to paste (they think they press something else
by accident) and when they go to type, the font has changed to red
underline. I've never seen this before. They say the only way to get rid
of it is to close the doc without saving and do cut/paste thing again. Has
anyone else seen this? Thanks, Diane

UPDATE: I did discover that Track Changes is being turned on but I don't
know how. I can't find the keyboard shortcut for this. At least they know
how to fix the problem without losing data! Diane
