I'm not sure what you're trying to do...it sounds like the sender of
the message set that "read by" flag on the message, and that when
you didn't read the message by that date, your Outlook turned it red
because of the existing "Overdue" automatic formatting rule you
have. In other words, if you wanted someone to read your message by
a certain date and then mark it overdue after that, you'd be the one
to set the flag on the message before you sent it.

Ah ha! Overdue email. I just received one before I opened OE. It
SAYS ...read before 7-1....sent with High importance. Thank you so
much! Now I need to set a 'read before' rule!
in message When you say "in the header" are you really talking about the
entry in your message list? (Not the actual message header you
see when you open the message, right)? If so, an automatic
formatting rule is doing this. Right click the column header and
select Custom, then click the Automatic Formatting button -- see
what criteria a message needs to have in order for the message
information to show up in red on the message list.

Occasionally I receive junk email with red fonts in the header(
all fields). I Like It! How can I send either all or select
emails with this feature. It makes it REALLY easy to find in an
