Red Lines

How do you get rid of the red lines that appear underneath an address? It
seems as though the words, "avenue, street, drive, etc..." trigger a red
dotted line to appear underneath the address.

Words underlined in red are being marked up by the spellchecker.
Go to Tools > options > Spelling & Grammar and untick the Check Spelling as
you type option to get rid of this functionality.
Green wavy lines are grammar errors. You can switch them off there too!

See Word Help "What do underlines in my document mean"

I think you are seeing a "purple" dotted line which may appear red. These
indicate smart tags. If this is the case the Tools>Options>View and uncheck
smart tags

They are not the red wavy lines that accompany misspellings. These are more
like redish purple dots that aren't connected. I've never seen them before.

Ahh, if you'd have said *purple* I'd have said Smart Tags! To switch these
off go to Tools > Options > View and untick Smart Tags

Thank you both. I appreciate the help.
