RED X 3 in a ROW!!!

I get the red X on three differente computers!!!!
conditions?
Win 2k SP4
PowerPoint XP
Nikon D50 Pictures.

Each and every picture taken with NIKON D50 at medium resolution, and High
Quality compression JPG brings me to the mysterious Red X.

The three computers have very different h/w, one is an Athlon 64 3000+ with
a 128mb ATI Radeon 9250 and 512mb ram,. the other has the same uP on
different MoBo but uses a GeForce MX200 with 64mb ram, the other is an ECS
MoBo with an AMD Duron itegrated. it has 512mb ram minus 32mb shared with
on-board SIS gpu.

So as you can imagine the 3 have very differente graphic cappabilities and
everyona has different color depth and screen resolution. I hope this helps
to MVP and Office developers.

Hi TAJ, i have the nikon D50 set to medium resolution, that means they are:
2256 x 1496 px so there are about 3.3 megapixels each picture. with a 24
bit color depth, pictures are JPGs with EXIFF headers. I used the same
resolution from an old Sony DSC S-75 (with maximum quality JPG) and never
had the Red X. Might be something with Nikon's EXIFF headers? or maybe
Nikon's JPG compression algorithms? I don't know anyway I always batch
compress images before inserting them into PPT (performance reasons) but I
love experimenting with several ways to make urgent work never come out(so I
can show my clients the DO NOT list) LOL.

Try loading your JPGs in some other software and re-saving them.

Does that do the trick?

Do you need them at 2256x1496 for an on-screen presentation?
