Red X box in blank picture area in Outlook 2007

Recently my computer is displaying a blank picture with a red X box inside
and the message not enough memory or file may be corrupt ....

I have til just a few weeks ago had not experienced that problem. I can
resize the picture to much smaller and it displays. I have 2gig of ram so I
can't imagine that the image is too large, but rather some maximum size
setting for an email message etc. someplace in Outlook setup or ???

I am operating XP Pro
