red x in powerpoint, have read faq.

i just want to make sure;
i have a presentation that no longer shows me pictures, just red xs. from
reading the faq, there is no way to get my pictures back?

If the images are linked, they should still be on your system. If they are
inserted, you my want to try on a different computer which has PowerPoint
installed.
