Red X instead of pictures

I'm a new FP03 user trying to update a club site.
www.sailingadventureclub.org

I'm told the server is IIS 5.0 with FP extensions.

When I edit the crew info page and add a picture and publish it,
the changes are all there except that the picture is just a box with
the red x. Clicking on it doesn't help.
The picture shows up on the page in my system and was saved as an embedded
file. I recalculated the hyperlinks, took the space out of the file name and
there are several pics on the site already. Any suggestions?

Can't find any missing images...looks fine from here. ...oh wait you mean
the SAcuniform.jpg?? it's not uploaded. Delete it from your local web,
then Import it into FP again, this time rename it without
capitalization...then place it into your design, Recalculate Hyperlinks then
RE-Publish.

Thats a pretty big boat to be sailing around in Tempe btw.

that popup on the homepage is annoying,,,why not just post a meeting date on
the index page?

First, import the image to the web . If you must break the file name into
two words use "_" and NOT a space. Ie. "file_name".

Second, use only lower case letters for the file name.

Third, if the image is still not showing correctly, change the file name.
Something like "file_name2" would work.

Ideally, the file name should be correctly named before adding it to a
website. FP gets confused when trying to use a similarly named file and
produces the "X"

"File Name" or "File_Name" or "file_name"

This is from my own experience and the work around that I figured out
myself. I'm sure some of the guru's here may have something else to add or
correct. They ARE very helpful!

The Browser does when it can't find the image.

Thanks for the help. But.......I renamed it "uniform", recalulated the
hyperlinks, and published with the same result.

You got the suggestions. And the workarounds to correct associated problems

The root of the root problem is that you worked on the file from outside
the web. Images added to the page were linked to files outside your web.
They look fin when you view them on your machine. But when you publish
them to your site, the external files (outside the FP web) don't get
published. The image reference on the page points to the wrong place.

If you use FP to publish your site:
Always open the FP web first.
Then import images and other external files (PDF, DOC, MP3 etc. )to the
FP web.
Then add images or lick to files in your web pages.

hmmm, kinda looks like your web doesn't have FP extensions...make sure you
are actually uploading the uniform.jpg image.

yeahhh! Thanks for the support.

I typ w/3 finners(fingers), 2 index fingers and a thum (thumb). A few
yrs ago i was using a kbd with a ltr key that din't work. Thngs have
improved.
