Redefining a shape...

I created a custom shape... and used it in a drawing.
Now I have to edit the shape.

Is there a way to have all instances of that shape take on the new
attributes?

Similar to paragraph styles is Word.......

edit it in the document stencil

I edit the stencil object, but it doesnt apply to objects already in
the drawing.
Only future instances of the object are updated.
