Redline problem in Word

Chris

Has anyone ever heard of an issue with MS Word documents
that have been maintained over time with multiple
versions of redlines? The issue is that we have a
document that is updated twice a year by using the
redline function. Recently, we have noticed that the
document has become difficult to maintain (e.g. we
redline one section and the rest of the document gets
redlined). Ideas?

Hi Chris,
Has anyone ever heard of an issue with MS Word documents
that have been maintained over time with multiple
versions of redlines? The issue is that we have a
document that is updated twice a year by using the
redline function. Recently, we have noticed that the
document has become difficult to maintain (e.g. we
redline one section and the rest of the document gets
redlined).
Do you see this kind of thing if you turn off track changes
(redlining, I guess) and make a formatting change to a
selection in the document? Does that formatting change
propagate throughout the document, as well?

It's possible, though, that this file has simply become
"tired". Copying and pasting all but the last paragraph
mark or using Insert/File into a new document might get
things to work correctly, again. But the "redlining"
currently in the file would not carry across.
