Reduce File Size from 10 MByte to 5 MByte

I need to send in an e-mail a MS Project file that is 10 MB size embedded in
MS Word document. The maximum e-mail size is 5 MB. Is there anyway
(excluding zipping the file) to reduce the file size in MS Project from 10 MB
to 5 MByte by changing some of the application settings (e.g. no history)?

Hi,

Not via code. However, open the file in Project and immediately select File,
Save (or Ctrl+S). If a save is the first thing done, then Project does
housekeeping on the file and will remove old areas where deleted files were
and consolidate the file as much as possible.

Although not a direct answer to your question, we routinely .ZIP files and
then change the file extention to .PIZ or anything else. This lets us get it
through the firewalls. We tell the recipeint to rename back to .ZIP and then
unzip the contents.

Perhaps a combination of Rod's suggestion plus this one will help
